Evaluating Winter Injury

Winter Injury - Green should be evident in April. Yields decline progressively at less than 11 plants/ft2. Bare areas require reseeding with spring wheat. Do not mix spring and winter wheat at harvest. Unless harvesting spring wheat areas separately, wheat will be marketed as a mixed class.

Insects - Grasshoppers may move in from non-crop land areas adjacent to winter wheat. Consider planting time treatment of insecticide when grasshopper infestation is high. Post-treatment with several other insecticides is possible.
