Heat Affects Small Grain

Temperatures in the 80's and 90's, with limited moisture, stresses crops, especially in area's with:

1. Salt Problems

2. Sand and Gravel Pockets

3. Root Rot

These patch areas generally will show a marked decline in crop growth compared to non-stressed areas. It is important to properly identify the causes of growth decline as management strategies are different for each cause.
